Burlington Police Arrest Suspect for Sexual Assault
Burlington, NC | On April 12, 2025, at 8:05 a.m., officers responded to Chestnut Street to a reported sexual assault. The suspect was identified as Ernest James Jackson Jr., a 59-year-old male, who is alleged to have sexually assaulted the victim and left the scene.
While officers were still investigating, Jackson returned to the area and was arrested. Jackson was charged with Second-Degree Forcible Rape and is being held at the Alamance County Jail without bond.
There is no risk to the public. This investigation is ongoing.

Burlington, NC | On April 2, 2026, following an investigation of juvenile sexually related crimes, the Burlington Police Department arrested and charged Andrew Paul Diana, a 43-year-old male,
with the following:
• One Count of Secret Peeping
• One Count of Disseminating Obscenity
• One Count of Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor
• One Count of Second-Degree Forcible Sex Offense
• One Count of Possessing a Photographic Image Obtained in Violation of the Peeping Statute
• One Count of Disseminating Images Obtained in Violation of the Peeping Statute
• One Count of Third-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor
• One Count of Displaying Harmful Materials to Minors
Diana is being held at the Alamance County Detention Center under no bond. This is still an ongoing investigation, and there is no threat to the community.
