B&E at Southern Methodist University (SMU)
July 19, 2024

Between the close of business on Tuesday, July, 9th, 2024 and the next morning (Wednesday, July 10th) unknown persons illegally entered the Southern Methodist University (SMU) campus maintenance shop located at 6580 State Road 518, Ranchos de Taos. Access was gained by cutting the locking bolts with a saw.

Once inside, a blue 2003 Dodge Dakota truck that was in the shop was loaded with several Sthil chainsaws, several Sthil weed whackers, several Sthil blowers and various hand tools. In addition, the catalytic converters were cut off of two other trucks that were in the shop. The blue 2003 Dodge Dakota along with all of the Sthil power tools and the two catalytic converters were stolen.
