The Campus Crime Stoppers program provides a toll-free, anonymous tipline, website, and mobile application that are operated 24 hours a day for students calling to report information regarding campus related criminal activity. Students may be eligible for a reward of up to $500 if an arrest is made as a result of tip given to Crime Stoppers.

The student providing information may call the Crime Stoppers anonymous tipline directly at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477), make an anonymous report online via the Crime Stoppers website by clicking on the "Submit a Tip" button above, or utilize the P3 TIPS mobile app available as a free download from iTunes or Google Play (see the video below). The student will be required to provide the operator with the name and location of the school he or she is calling about and a description of the criminal activity and/or suspect being reported.

The student will then be issued a unique code number that will identify the caller with the crime tip provided. This method keeps the student anonymous and allows for a reward payment.  Students who may be eligible for a reward will need to re-contact Crime Stoppers directly.

The purpose of this program is not to intimidate students, nor is it to be considered a "snitch" program. Its mission should be to provide an avenue for students to be able to provide information regarding possible criminal activity in their school anonymously and without fear of retaliation.

DOES IT WORK?

The program was established in every middle and senior public high school in Hillsborough County in 1998.  In 2011, it was expanded to the Pasco County School District.  Since that time the program has successfully resulted in:
