South Okanagan Similkameen Crime Stoppers is operated by a local volunteer board of directors. South Okanagan Similkameen Crime Stoppers receives no funding other than what it raises through sponsors and donations. For over 15 years, South Okangan Similkameen Crime Stoppers raised funds by holding an annual Crime Stoppers Golf Tournament. However with ever increasing competition from other golf tournaments, increased costs and lower golfer turnout it was decided to try something else to raise the needed funds. Starting in 2018, SOS Crime Stoppers started to hold a dinner and live auction at the Copper Mug.  Businesses  and individuals in the community donate products, services and money that results in auction items to bid on with the proceeds going to SOS Crime Stoppers. This dinner and auction has been well received by both the sponsors and attendees and has resulted in providing South Okanagan Similkameen Crime Stoppers with the needed funds to continue to operate. South Okanagan Similkameen Crime Stoppers works with the Community, Police and Media to solve crime and keep our communities safe.
