MURDER INVESTIGATION
May 15, 2021
STATUS: OPENMURDER INVESTIGATION
On May 15th, 2021, at approximately 1:44pm, Freeport Police Officers responded to the intersection of Frank Street and State Avenue for a report of shots fired. A 19 year-old Freeport man with gunshot injuries was found at the scene, and a 23 year-old Freeport man was transported from the scene to an area hospital via private vehicle prior to officers’ arrival. The 19 year-old victim was transported by a Freeport Fire Department ambulance and was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival at FHN Memorial Hospital. The name of the 19 year-old victim is not being released at this time. The 23 year-old victim’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
In connection with this investigation, Freeport Police are currently looking for a newer model silver Chrysler 300 with black rims that may be occupied by three or more people. The occupants of the Chrysler 300 should be considered armed and dangerous. The Freeport Police Department is attempting to locate the male subjects depicted in these photographs as part of a Murder investigation. The suspects were last seen fleeing the area eastbound on Galena Avenue in the depicted Chevrolet Uplander minivan. The offense occurred on 7-29-2020 at approximately 8:10 PM at the Townhouse Motel located at 1156 W. Galena Avenue in Freeport.
