On September 14, 2022 at approximately 1:18 AM while on patrol in the area of Mescalero Trails and Sudderth Drive, an officer with the Ruidoso Police Department drove upon a crash in the parking lot of the Allsup’s located on Mescalero Trail and Sudderth Drive. Once making contact with the occupant of the vehicle, it was discovered that she had intentionally crashed into a parked vehicle to get anyone’s attention because she had been abducted and was being forced to drive while being held at knifepoint.

Upon investigation, it was learned the female had been abducted from her home in the area of Raymond Buckner Drive. Authorities have learned that sometime prior to the crash an unknown male had entered the home and assaulted the female; he then forced her to drive him, in her vehicle, towards U.S. Highway 70. It was during that time she took the opportunity and intentionally crashed to terminate the abduction. 

The suspect is at large and the Ruidoso Police Department is looking for a Hispanic male about 5’5’’ to 5’9”, about 150-160 lbs. last seen wearing a dark colored hoodie, dark pants and black sandals. Last seen in the area of Mescalero Trail and Sudderth Drive.
