On Wednesday, March 17th, Police in Jacksonville are investigating a shooting with no witnesses and no suspects in a Brentwood neighborhood.
A spokesperson for Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said they arrived at a home on W. 26th and Silver Street after receiving notification of 6 shots fired via ShotSpotter detection.
When responders arrived, they found a vehicle had collided with a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home. The driver, a man in his 30-40s was found dead.
Police said he had one gunshot wound to the upper torso. Neighbors told police they didn’t see anything, according to JSO, but there may be surveillance cameras in the area.
The spokesperson said investigators aren’t sure if someone shot the man as they were passing in another vehicle or if the shooter was on foot.

On July 19th, 2020 at approximately 0330 hours, Demetri Jaron Blount, was observed walking down Church Street. When a newer model black in color Chevrolet Mabilu, occupied by unknown suspect(s) drives by Blount and shoots him five times. Starke Police Department needs help identifying any additional suspects or witnesses that may have been involved.

The Sheriff's Office reported Thursday morning that the Nissan has been found. The agency also released two more photos of a man and a woman who may have information about the homicide and is asking for the public's help in identifying them.

Aggravated Battery Suspect(s) Sought
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation into an Aggravated Battery in the 1900 block of College Circle South. In the late evening hours of Saturday, August 1, 2020, officers responded to the area in reference to the report of shots being fired into a residence. As a result of the shooting, a 12 year old boy, identified as Darrielle Rucker, was struck as he laid in his bed. Investigators have been advised that as a result of the injuries sustained in the shooting, the victim is now paralyzed and may never walk again.
Investigators continue in their attempts to identify a suspect in the tragic incident that left this undeserving child in what appears to be a lifelong medical battle. We are asking for anyone situated in the area of this crime to review surveillance video for possible information that may assist in this investigation.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left two men dead on Jacksonville’s Westside on Thursday, June 18th, morning. Phillip Harley, 37, and Michael Thomas, 35, were gunned down in June while working overnight at a tower off Firestone Road and Morse Avenue.
Police said they responded to the area 6800 Firestone Road around 6 a.m. and found the men who were fatally shot multiple times. The sheriff’s office said they were found in a small building on the property of an AT&T cell tower.
