Murder at Park Ridge Estates

The Ruston Police Department responded to Park Ridge Estates on 12/30/23 at approximately 0004 hours regarding a shots fired complaint.  When the initial officers arrived on scene, they located a black male subject lying in the parking lot.  The victim had sustained what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the back of his head.   While officers were securing the scene and attempting to render aid to the victim, another victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head was located in a parked pickup truck near the first victim.  The truck was idling, and the headlights were on.

Both victims were transported to Northern Louisiana Medical Center by Ruston Ambulance Service.  Each victim was later transported by helicopter to LSUS in Shreveport.  Both victims eventually succumbed to their injuries,
