August 22, 2018

According to a report filed with Mt. Brook PD a theft occurred on August 19, 2018, between 12:30 and 1:30 PM, at a grocery store in the 3100 block of Overton Road.  A wallet and its contents were stolen from the purse of a victim.  Detectives believe the wallet was stolen from the victim’s purse while it was setting in her shopping cart and she was distracted.  Detectives obtained surveillance video images of the pictured male they believe to be a suspect in this case.  After review of available surveillance video detectives believe this suspect likely considered other shoppers with purses in the store before selecting the reported victim.   He is described as a tall black male with medium build.  Detectives believe the suspect was traveling in the pictured vehicle.  If you think you recognize this suspect, or know anything about this crime, please contact Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama at 205-254-7777.  You remain anonymous, and the information you provide to Crime Stoppers leading to the charge and arrest of an identified suspect could result in a cash reward.
