Thefts From Auto's / File #18-13877
December 04, 2018

As recently posted, Campbell River has experienced a rash of Thefts From Vehicles & unfortunately, the majority have been unlocked with items such as electronics, jewelry, wallets & loose change being stolen!
Please have a look at the attached photos taken from a video from Thefts that took place in Campbell River on December 2, 2018. It's believed that this individual is responsible for several of these and maybe you've seen him before or have an idea whom he may be. (Video will be posted separately to our Facebook page).
Submit a tip to us should you have any information about this crime! Thefts from Auto's are plaguing many in this community and if we can help get one or more identified, maybe we can help reduce the numbers taking place.
Just another reminder, "Target Harden" your vehicles by keeping them locked, remove your valuables & keep items out of sight at the very least. With the Holiday Season upon us, we can keep it more festive by also not leaving gifts or recently purchased packages inside if at all possible. Be aware of your surroundings when loading / unloading your vehicle to ensure somebody isn't watching for you to be out of sight before trying your vehicle. Every little bit of prevention can help us all battle the "grinches" that will try to ruin things for us all.

Theft Of Child's Bicycle / File #18-8290
July 24, 2018

What should have been a typical summer day for a 12 year old buying candy and pop turned into a night mare. On Wednesday, July 24th, at approximately 1:45 pm, the young man’s locked bike was stolen from the bike rack at Quality Foods located on Merecroft Road. The lock remained wrapped around the pole, but had been cut and the bike was gone.
An RCMP Officer, who just happened to be in the area, was approached by the boy who described his bicycle as black KONA with blue accents, a 24 speed men’s mountain bike and only two years old. The KONA has front shocks, a water bottle holder and disc brakes.
"Theft of any kind is unacceptable, but when you’re stealing a bike from an innocent young boy, it takes it to another level. If you can help with relocating the bike to the rightful owner, we ask that you call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477," said Inspector Jeff Preston.
