Dakota Casey's Retail Theft
January 25, 2021
On January 5, 2021 at about 8pm, an unknown white male wearing coveralls and a tie die t-shirt entered the Dakota Casey's General Store and stole 2 bottles of alcohol. The white male then left in an unknown direction in a white SUV. The white make is described as having a mustache and beard with brown shoulder length hair that's possibly worn in a dreadlock style. The white male appears to be in his early 20's. The Stephenson County Sheriff's Office is also trying to identify a female that was possibly with the white male or may be a witness to the crime.

Cedarville Mobil Retail Theft
May 18, 2018
On May 18, 2018 at approximately 8:00 pm, The Stephenson County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the Cedarville IL Mobil Station for a Retail Theft. Deputies learned upon arrival, that an unknown white male wearing a baseball hat had taken two cartons of Cigarettes and fled out of the Gas Station into a white believed to be Honda Accord travelling Eastbound on Cedarville Rd. We need your assistance in identifying the white male seen in the attached photo.

Walter Scott Homicide
September 25, 2013
The Freeport Police Department needs your help to find the person(s) responsible for the murder of Walter Scott.
On 9-25-13 at approximately 3:08 p.m., Freeport Police Officers responded to a death investigation in a home in the 800 block of West Chestnut Street in Freeport. Upon their arrival, Freeport Police Officers found Walter A. Scott, age 34, to have been shot to death inside his residence.

Jeffrey Hammer - Pedestrian Hit and Run
September 27, 2008
On September 27, 2008 at apoximately 1:17am the Stephenson County Sheriff`s Office was dispatched to an accident with injuries on South Bolton Road just to the north of Wst Hershey Road. We were advised that a male subject had been struck by a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, the male subject, identified as Jeffrey Hammer of Shannon, Illinois, was pronounced dead at the scene. The dark green vehicle left the area. Witnesses and evidence indicated that Jeffrey was lying on the north bound lane of South Bolton Road when he was struck the second time. Several vehicle parts were recovered from the dark green vihicle. Further investigation indicated that it could be a 1997 Chevrolet Malibu, emerald green in color. Jeffrey was walking home after getting his vehicle stuck at the corner of South Bolton Road and Sabin Church Road.
