On February 17, 2024, at approximately 6:43 am, Moline Police responded to a burglary report. A Rock Island County Sheriff's Office squad car was burglarized overnight. The suspect(s) broke a window and stole a department-issued Rock River Arms LAR 15 rifle. The rifle was stored in a rifle case along with a magazine. On February 17th, a concerned citizen located a rifle case and magazine discarded in a roadway in Moline. The hard case and magazine were confirmed to be the property of Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office. On October 24, 2023 at 12:25 pm, the pictured suspect (wearing a bucket hat and glasses) used a cloned credit card with the victim’s skimmed card data to obtain $482.50 from the ATM located inside Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh in Bettendorf. The victim’s card information was likely skimmed in the Clinton, Iowa area.
The suspect wearing a ball cap used the same M.O. in Davenport. He also used cloned debit cards skimmed across Iowa in mid-November. It was noticed that this suspect had a European accent. He used the cards to make withdrawals from ATM’S located in smaller bars, convenience stores and grocery stores. It’s likely these two suspects are part of a bigger crime ring. One of the suspects was wearing a 1 Backwoods sweatshirt and another was wearing a Rick n Morty sweatshirt. The suspect vehicle appears to be a 2017-2018 Dodge Caravan with tinted windows and black rims. The license plate appears to be a car dealership plate or applied for plate. The suspects stole several Rigid SeaSnakes and Monitors and a Rigid Flex Shaft with carbide tipped chain. The total value of the equipment stolen was about $25,000. The pictured suspect attempted to use the victim’s credit card at Dollar General in Silvis at about 8:30 am the same day. The suspect is a white male wearing what appears to be black and blue shoes, dark colored shorts, a red St. Louis Cardinals Albert Pujols jersey, a black baseball cap with a logo on the front, which may be the New York Yankees, and wearing a black backpack that appears to possibly have a white Reebok symbol on it. Upon seeing the home owner on the couch, the suspect ran out of the house. Needless to say, the home owner was startled by this invasion. He described the suspect as a male, white, in his 20's or 30's, 5'9" to 6' tall, heavier build, wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans. The suspect damaged the door frame.
